What They Made Me Watch in April, 2009

I made a list of it:

Columbo: Swan Song (1974)
The Pillow Book (1996)
Lola rennt / Run Lola Run (1998) (R)
Blade: Trinity (2004)
Ne le dis à personne / Tell No One (2006) (R)
Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny (2006)
Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters (2007)

Bigger Stronger Faster* (2008)
How to Lose Friends & Alienate People (2008)
Semi-Pro (2008)
The Spirit (2008)
Valkyrie (2008)

Mr. Show: Season 2 (1996, 6 episodes)
The Office: Season 1 (2005, 6 episodes) (R)
Damages: Season 2 (2009, 13 episodes)
Red Dwarf: Back to Earth (2009, 3 episodes)

Now I will tell you what you should think about them: The Columbo episode stars Johnny Cash as the killer (not as Columbo) and it's okay but not one of the all-time great episodes. You will be bored by Greenaway's Pillow Book even if it seems like it's actually kind of good and since you like some other Greenaway movies a lot I guess it's possible you would have liked this one too if you had concentrated more on the film instead of whatever it was you were doing at the same time. Run Lola Run is still pretty good, you will like it. Blade: Trinity is completely awful but it has at least one good line ("cock-juggling thundercunt!") which you will admire and use in your everyday life whenever there's an opportunity. Tell No One is almost great, maybe actually great. The Tenacious D movie will bore you, you will only watch it because Amy Adams is supposed to be in it, and she is, for about five seconds. The Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie is probably more interesting than good and you'll like it but it maybe doesn't hold up for an entire movie. Bigger Stronger Faster* is a pretty entertaining steroid documentary and it will make you think. How to Lose Friends & Alienate People sucks more than you could ever guess. Semi-Pro also sucks. The Spirit sucks so hard it kind of rules, if you play a drinking game and have a shot whenever there's a Frank Miller Cliché onscreen you will end up dead or unconscious. Brian Singer's Valkyrie is pretty decent but definitely not as good as it should be. The second season of Mr. Show almost rules but you liked the first season better. The first season of The Office (US) is interesting to rewatch because a lot has happened since then. Season 2 of Damages is decent but a bit less decent than the first season which was also decent. Red Dwarf: Back to Earth sucks hard and it will make you start to wonder if Red Dwarf always secretly sucked, you just didn't notice. After you have watched all this you will write a blog post about it which you will not check for grammar errors or other mistakes because you suspect there are a lot of them and that would just bring you down.

Bah and double bah. As every TRUE SUPERBLOG!! fan knows, I watched Tideland in March last year, Iron Man in August, and The Morning After in September.

I tried to rewatch Red Dwarf. I think it starts sucking in the second season, and the third season is unwatchable. There may be some hidden gems in subsequent seasons, but I couldn't bear the suckitude to find out for sure.

As I said about series 8 in my poorly written and non-insightful review: "I think a lot of people would say that this is where Red Dwarf firmly jumped the shark, but I'd argue that actually happened six series before". So yes, series (British for "season") 2.
