Me on a Train

I've been travelling by train a lot lately. Sometimes by day, sometimes at night. The last ride was just half an hour ago. It was short. The next one will likely start around lunchtime tomorrow and fill a large portion of the rest of the day.

During my frequent train rides I read and listen to music and think about stuff. I prepare presentations. I send silly text messages. I sleep. Oftentimes I feel a strong urge to kill fellow passengers. But I've suppressed it, so far.

Confabulations, Doctor Uncle!!

Here is an actual photographic representation of my esteemed co-blogger and co-blooger, Doctor Sam Tool (or S. Tool or "DOCTOR'S TOOL". Or Dr Stool). AKA "Uncle Sammy". His real name is Tool because he is a huge tool, or has a huge tool, but we confabulate him heartily on this, his happy happy day. Happy day! Happy day! HAPPY HAPPY DAY. He is a sort of doctor now - a doctor of wood. Him buy me cigar. Also beer.

The Certificate of Certificates!

Today I was certified by super big Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare to continue to do what I do. Haha! Like I cared about other peoples health and welfare!! But it was good news indeed since I like to do what I do and sometimes I do care. Sort of. I also got a big fat raise!

Olm

Olm:

The olm, or proteus (Proteus anguinus), is a blind amphibian endemic to the subterranean waters of caves of the Dinaric karst of southern Europe. It lives in the waters that flow underground through this extensive limestone region including waters of the Soča river basin near Trieste in Italy, through to southern Slovenia, southwestern Croatia, and Herzegovina. The olm is the only species in its genus Proteus, the only European species of the family Proteidae, and the only European exclusively cave-dwelling chordate. It is also occasionally called the "human fish" by locals because of its human-like skin (translated literally from Slovene: človeška ribica and Croatian: čovječja ribica), as well as "cave salamander" or "white salamander."

Crab Cake for Garret

I just read on the Garret Dillahunt blog that it's Garret Dillahunt's birthday! He should be 44 but Wikipedia says he is 43 for some reason! Even though it also says he was born in 1964. That makes no sense! Wikipedia says a lot of things. Someone should edit it to make more sense. Anyway, here's some Maryland crab cake for Mr Dillahunt.

Kholm

Once again, I have transformed bland Shakespearean actor Sir Patrick Stewart into something interesting and terrific and attractive. Now he's better equipped for love than for war!

Remember that episode of Star Trek: Episode Nein where Captain Patrick Stewart encountered the terrifying alien race known as the "Kholm"? Remember that one? And how they accidentally ate his face, and he had to have a new face sewn on? And then he blew up the Kholm planet with his Enterprise Starship? Remember that episode?

Ckholm

May the horse be with you! I have photoshopped (some might say bettered) Patrick Stewart. I made him handsome and capable. My Patrick Stewart smells of vanilla.

Interestingly enough, I once had a school chum called CK (Carl Kenneth) Holm. At least I think that's what his name was. I use "chum" in the very loosest of senses. But anyway. This one's for you, Calle Holm!

Tockholm

HELLO INTERNET DARLINGS. Thank you for visiting today. This is number 2 in a series of circa 9 posts, each of which will shed one letter from the title of the first post in the series (except for the first post in the series), to see what we end up with. The image above was stolen from the television series The Wire which I like a lot. I chose it because it perfectly illustrates what a typical night in Sthlm (STOCKHOLM) might be like.

Tomorrow I predict that I or someone will post a blog entry called "Ockholm" with may possibly feature a picture of Shakespearean actor Patrick Stewart and some kind of allusion to WHORES. We shall see.

Who Pisses on Watchmen?

There's an actual trailer out for the film adaptation of Alan Moore's classic book and it looks and sounds terrible. I'm so sad. For a minute there I was kinda thinking the film wouldn't suck.

Silk Spectre II poster via hd-trailers.org, who also has five more character posters. (Malin Åkerman's character, pictured above, is, of course, the daughter of the character played by perennial SUPERBLOG!! favorite Carla Gugino. But that's not going to save the film! Nothing can. Nothing!!)

Update@later: I was going to add that, on the positive side, the Watchmen movie couldn't possibly suck as hard as Frank Miller's insane The Spirit, coming this Christmas. But, judging by the new trailer, it looks like The Spirit could actually be Stupid Fun. Obviously completely divorced from the source material, though.

The Year of Definitely Not Watching Any DVDs: September, 2008

What I definitely didn't watch in September:

Mr. & Mrs. Smith (1941)
Bamako (2006)
Alphaville, une étrange aventure de Lemmy Caution (1965)
WALL·E (2008)
Signs (2002)
Once (2006)
Mad Dog and Glory (1993)
The Major and the Minor (1942)
The Wire: Season 3 (2004, 12 episodes)
Sealab 2021: Season 1 (2001, 13 episodes) (R)
Primer (2004) (R)
Fast Food Nation (2006)
Irma la Douce (1963)
Cashback (2006)
You Don't Mess with the Zohan (2008)
The Pleasure Garden (1925)
Kelly's Heroes (1970)
Ned Kelly (2003)
Hiroshima mon amour (1959)
Murder! (1930) (R)
The Omen (1976)
The Morning After (1986) (R)
The Lodger (1927)
The Incredible Hulk (2008)
Wiseguy: Season 1 (1987-1988, 22 episodes) (R)
Nothing (2003)
Love in the Afternoon (1957)

Best: Aside from more Wire and Primer (again!), nothing really stood out as particularly awesome. Once was one of the better ones. Once, ones. That rhymes. Parts of Sealab ruled. I really enjoyed the first half hour of WALL·E, but I could have done without the people.

Worst: Surprisingly, not much sucked either. Cashback did, but it wasn't offensively bad or anything. Plus, it had Keeley Hazell nude. (See KeeleyHazellnu.de!) Also Michelle Ryan (not nude):

She looks like she's about to spit in your face. Do you like that, huh? Do you like that?

Public Announcement!!

Dear diary,

Today I sold my monster car and bought a SAAB!! My VOLVO was white but my SAAB is blue. And that is true. Hello KITTY!!!!

Uncle Sam Took a Hand!

Election Hangover! These so-called links are still funny or interesting but they'll cease to be so very soon.

You're probably wondering: Has President Obama Been Assassinated Yet?

Video: Cindy McCain Claims She’s ‘Just Like Any Other Female Human’. In six months, nobody will remember Cindy McCain. She'll join Tipper Gore and the rest on the failed-First-Lady garbage heap. But she'll still be richer and more powerful than you.

Comics: Steve Brodner's Red, NY and Blue. That Brodner is a caricaturist of immense talent fo shizzle.

More comics: Uncle Sam vs the Mad Poet. Rhyme ruins nation! Above pic taken from this link.

Pat Oliphant cartoon: Ready to rejoin the world? Ha ha!

Wikipedia (not election related): Because of Michael Crichton's death, I found out about the small penis rule (also, I watched Crichton's fun Westworld and its dumb sequel Futureworld. I recommend the first one because it is fun but not the latter, because it is dumb.)

Plus and also, here is a Peter Arno cartoon I like: Old Whittington!

Tomorrow: More asbestos! More asbestos!

Happy Korean Birthday!

Three years already! (I'm guessing "vuotta" means years.) It seems like just a year ago the Demon Child was only two. Three years is a lot but it's still younger than SUPERBLOG!!, and isn't that a disturbing thought? This blog has been here longer than actual people have existed! Anyway: Happy birthday, and never forget that Sanrio is Japanese and not Korean. Now for some embedded music:

The Skin Game (1931)

Iron Man (2008)
Suspicion (1941)

Under Capricorn (1949)
Freeway (1996) (R)
I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997)
Wild Things 2 (2004)
Inland Empire (2006)
The Craft (1996)
Steal Big Steal Little (1995)
Snakes on a Plane (2006)
Standing Still (2005)
The Wire: Season 2 (2003, 12 episodes)
Downhill (1927)
Hancock (2008)
Primer (2004)
Waltzes from Vienna (1934)
Oz: Season 5 (2002, 8 episodes)
A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court (1949)
The Emperor Waltz (1948)
Funny Games U.S. (2007)

Best: The first couple of seasons of The Wire (illustrated above with Lance Reddick and his hos). Easily one of the greatest TV shows ever - my biggest problem with it is that it makes good stuff look bad. On the film side I probably liked Primer the most. Intelligent science fiction films are very rare. Also, Leaving Las Vegas, a devastating alcoholism drama with Nic Cage in his best role, and the charmingly trashy Freeway are two old favorites of mine. And I'd say The Dark Knight is almost worthy of the praise it's gotten.

Worst: Probably 2 Fast 2 Furious, which I got/took from Uncle Sammy. Thanks, Uncle! Hancock was entertaining for a little while, but turned shit towards the end. The Skin Game is Hitchcock's most boring film (I know, I've seen all 52 of them). The Bing Crosby "comedy" A Connecticut Yankee almost made me vomit (I only watched it because it came on the same disc as Billy Wilder's Emperor Waltz which also stars Bing). Steal Big Steal Little, starring Andy Garcia, was apparently a massive flop, which shows there is a Jebus.

Maybe next time I'll actually review the movies?

Guy Fawkes and Angels, What's Sammy Doing to Postmistress?

Is an actual line from a movie I've seen a couple of times. It's one of these.

But the image is from another movie: the shitty adaptation of Alan Moore's V for Vendetta. Because tonight is Guy Fawkes Night. But it seems a tad anticlimactic given yesterday's excitements. Also, Sweden obviously doesn't celebrate Guy Fawkes. Only the Brits (and some of their colonies) do. I had to post this though. Cos I just realized that SUPERBLOG!! has never, in all its years of existence, mentioned Guy Fawkes! That's just bizarre.

A New Dawn for SUPERBLOG!!

Poor John McCain! Who would have thought that abandoning everything he stood for wouldn't work? Ha ha. Stupid war hero.

Here, finally, is a new dawn for SUPERBLOG!!. Yay! And for America. Maybe. (Probably not.) But check it: Did I tell you five months ago that Barack would OWN the election? Yes I did. I have eerie powers.

Obama to Plunge World into Dark Age of Despair

Election Watch! Since Sweden, the homebase of SUPERBLOG!!, is located several latitudes (or whatever the proper unit of measurement is) East of the American continent, it will be Wednesday here in just a few hours - and that means that we already have the results of the US election!

And it is with pride I inform you that we (yes, I consider myself an honorary United States citizen) have a new prez-elect! And his name is Osama bin Hussein Barackistan, Imam of all he surveys. Just kidding. It's Barack the Mighty! But the point is: Bow down before him! Bow down!

Fun #19: Terror

Terror isn't fun but if we don't laugh the terrorists will have fun. Will the terrorists (I mean Barack & Michelle) win tomorrow? Let's hope so! Cos Obama is a LOVE terrorist. He will usher America into a new millennium. A millennium of love terror (with the emphasis on love).

Let's bomb Afghanistan with LOVE!

Blogging from London indeed!

So here am Uncle. I'm in one of the middles of London. Cheap ass internet cafe with a bunch of English losers who most likely can't afford a computer of their own. I shall go shopping now because now I've had breakfast. Beans!!! The guy to the left of me writes yahoo-mails fast as his life dependened on it so I'm trying to make faster click-sounds than him. Not working. He is very very fast indeed. Got to go now. I came. I blogged. I won.
